Explore the JAARS Base in Waxhaw, North Carolina, and learn about our history of mission innovation. Discover how we’re working to reduce barriers, ease burdens and deliver God’s Word to the nations—and see how you can be a part of this important work. Choose from two tour options below.

Guided Tours

During a 90-minute guided tour, you’ll walk about a mile as you discover JAARS history in the Cardenas Building and visit our Air, Land and Sea Operations. Afterward, don’t miss touring The Alphabet Museum and visiting the Townsend Lobby and JAARS gift shop before you leave.

Be sure to bring strollers or wheelchairs if needed. All ages are welcome, but the tours are best suited for ages 12 and up.

Reservations are required. Please request your tour at least two weeks in advance.

Self-Guided Tours

Self-guided tours for groups of 10 or less are available:

Weekdays, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 12:30–3:30 p.m.
Saturdays, 12:30–3:30 p.m.

You'll begin the tour by learning about JAARS in the Cardenas Building, then touring The Alphabet Museum and the Townsend Lobby (closed Saturdays). You may also walk over to the runway viewing area between our hangar and the Aviation Admin building, with a picnic table and shade trees.
